Iago takes the position below lieutenant. And to many people he is the most evil character in shakespears plays, not for his treachery, which Macbeth is worse for, but the way in which he manages to get all the people that trust him to do as he wishes. Such as the way he uses people to kill Cassio, Kill Othello and to make people believe Desdemona isn't as pure as they think. He does this by taking using their trust and their own motivations. Roderigos desire for Desdemona, Cassios desire to take his place as lieutenant once again and also the characters weaknesses such as Othellos pride, and the way in which Cassio acts when he is drunk, to achieve what he wants.

Although Iago kills Roderigo when he stabs him, he does the most damage by using the other characters wants to achieve his own goal which in turn makes Cassio first lose his position, then make Desdemona beg Othello for Cassio to have his position back which allows Iago to suggest to Othello Desdemonas cheating and later to drive Roderigo into killing Cassio.

Iagos character is complex, but in Act I, Scene I, where he describes his anger at not being made lieutenant by Othello, the main motivations for Iagos ways are revenge and anger; he has revenge for Cassio replacing him, and also anger that Othello gave Cassio the promotion instead of him. So it is obvious that Iagos manipulations are due to a basic desire to get his own back on those who hurt him, and to have what he wants, Iagos suggestion that Cassio and Desdemona are having an affair gets Othello to trust Iago and the position as his lieutenant in Act III, Scene III.

Do my essay on Shakespeares Othello- Iago analysation CHEAP !Being made lieutenant by Othello only satisfies his pride, he continues with his plan to discredit Desdemona and this shows that it is not enough for Iago to have what he believes is his, and he must do something to Othello for not giving him the job as lieutenant in the first place, by making Othello believe that Desdemona has had an affair and destroy her...

Iago is hardheaded. We see this in the way he uses this opportunity to hurt Cassio and Othello. When Iago realizes Cassio is fond of Desdemona, he immediately makes a plan to use this to make Othello suspect they are having an affair.

Although Iago appears to want Othello and Cassio to feel misery, he does not appear to have a specific plan that he has thought out, he continually uses insights he makes about Cassio, Othello, Roderigo and Desdemona to help his plan in his asides.

Iagos hard-headedness is also evident in his use of Roderigo. He uses this wealthy Venetian for money by promising to give the gifts he receives to Desdemona; he instead keeps them for his own purposes.

When Roderigo suspects this in Act V, he plots to have Roderigo kill Cassio because if Cassio wins, he also wins by having Roderigo killed in the process. In the end this part of the plan fails, so Iago kills Roderigo himself.

Iago is cunning when things get very hard, he nearly gets away with his plan; Othello kills Desdemona, he is made lieutenant, but Cassio even though he was wounded in the attack in Act V, lives and Iago is caught and exposed.

Iago's weakness would be his wife Emilia, who although she receives threats and orders from Iago, revealed Iagos treachery by saying that Desdemona is innocent and explains how she found Desdemonas handkerchief, and how she passed it on to Iago... For this Iago shows ruthlessness by killing Emilia and running away, but is then later caught.

Iago appears to be using everyone elses weaknesses to his advantage, Iago does indeed have his own weaknesses, and this shows that no man is free from weaknesses.

Iago shows his weaknesses by his need to be made lieutenant, which reveals his own desire to reach a status he seems to need to be comfortable.

In Act II, Scene I, when Iago shows that he suspects Othello is having an affair with his wife as an incentive for manipulating Othello, he again shows his weakness, one which he uses with Othello against Desdemona.

Iagos great misjudgement is in his own wife. She stands up to him to defend Desdemona despite all the risks, unravelling Iagos manipulative web.

At the end of the play, Iago shows his difference from many of Shakespeares villains in that he is still alive. Most villains in Shakespeares plays die by being killed by those they done bad to in a theme of restoration of order. Iago on the other hand does not die; we can only guess that his future will be miserable...

To Kill a Mockingbird is definitely an excellent novel in that

it portrays life and the role of racism in the 10's. A reader may

not interpret several aspects in and of the book through just the

plain text. Boo Radley, Atticus, and the title represent three such

Order Custom To Kill a Mockingbird paper

things.

Not really disclosed to the reader until the end of the book,

Arthur Boo Radley plays an important role in the development of

both Scout and Jem. In the beginning of the story, Jem, Scout, and

Dill fabricate horror stories about Boo. They find Boo as a character

of their amusement, and one who has no feelings whatsoever. They

tried to get a peep at him, just to see what Boo looked like. Scout

connects Boo with the Mockingbird. Mrs. Maudie defines a mockingbird

as one who …don't do one thing but make music for us to enjoy. They

don't eat up people's gardens, don't nest in corncribs, they don't do

one thing but sing their hearts out for us (4). Boo is exactly

that. Boo is the person who put a blanket around Scout and Jem when

it was cold. Boo was the one putting gifts in the tree. Boo even

sewed up Jem's pants that tore on Dill's last night. Boo was the one

who saved their lives. On the contrary to Scout's primary belief, Boo

never harms anyone. Scout also realizes that she wrongfully treated

Boo when she thinks about the gifts in the tree. She never gave

anything back to Boo, except love at the end. When Scout escorts

Arthur home and stands on his front porch, she sees the same street

she saw, just from an entirely different perspective. Scout learns

what a Mockingbird is, and who represents one.

Arthur Radley not only plays an important role in developing

Scout and Jem, but helps in developing the novel. Boo can be divided

into three stages. Primitively, Boo is Scout's worst nightmare.

However, the author hints at Boo actually existing as a nice person

when he places things in the tree. The secondary stage is when Mrs.

Maudie's house burned to the ground. As Scout and Jem were standing

near Boo's house, it must have been rather cold. So, Boo places a

warm and snug blanket around Scout and Jem, to keep them warm. This

scene shows Boo's more sensitive and caring side of him, and shows

that he really has changed after stabbing his father. The last and

definitely most important stage is when he kills Bob Ewell to save

Scout and Jem. This stage portrays Boo as the hero and one who has

indefinitely changed his personality and attitudes. After the final

stage, Boo does not deserve to be locked up inside his house.

Atticus Finch is a man of strong morals. He follows them

exclusively, and does not hold up to the Finch family name, as defined

by Aunt Alexandria. Atticus is the most pure and good-hearted person

one may ever `see.` Although it does not seem like it, Scout will

evolve into her father; Jem will not. Scout finally understand all

the things he says. For example, in the beginning Atticus tells

Scout, You never really understand a person until you consider things

from his point of view…until you climb into his skin and walk around

in it (4). She then realizes that Mrs. Caroline did not know

Maycomb, and could not just learn it in one day. Scout comes to terms

that it was wrong to become upset with Mrs. Caroline. Scout learns

several other lessons. For example, on page 4, Atticus says his

most important line in the book, …remember it's a sin to kill a

mockingbird. Through clarifications from Mrs. Maudie, Scout accepts

her father's words. Atticus also teaches his kids a lesson when he

defends Tom Robinson, an innocent black person. Although Atticus knew

from the instant he accepted the case that Tom had no chance, he had

to do his duty as an honest and impartial citizen of Maycomb. Atticus

poured his heart into defending Atticus, and did a damn fine job. He

taught his kids the right thing, that all individuals are created

equal. If Aunt Alexandria had raised Scout and Jem, they might have

not cried at the end of the trial; they would not want to hurt the

Finch family reputation. It was Atticus who received a standing

ovation from the Black's Balcony. It is because of Atticus' good

heart that Cals black church accepted the children. Atticus has

probably built a better name for his family than Aunt Alexandria would

have, had she lived with the Finches.

Before reading To Kill a Mockingbird, the title itself means

nothing. The title is the foundation of a house. It is just a slob

of cement, and cannot be interpreted. While reading the book, pieces

of wood fit together and the house starts to stand up. After reading

the book, the house is fully painted and decorated. The landscaping

is complete, and the house is beautiful. Several things and people

represent the Mockingbird throughout the novel. The understanding

of the Mockingbird can bee seen in three steps. The first step is

in chapter 10. Atticus tells Jem to never shoot a mockingbird,

because it causes no harm. At this point, neither Jem nor Scout

understand what Atticus is saying. Secondly, Scout finds a roly-poly

in chapter 5. In answer to Scout's desire to kill the bug, Jem says,

Because they don't bother you… (41). At this second stage, Jem,

not yet Scout, has understood Atticus' holy words. The last depiction

is in the final chapters of the book. This Mockingbird is Arthur

Boo Radley. Boo ends up to save both Jem and Scout's lives, by

killing Bob Ewell. At this final stage in the book, Scout, as well as

Jem, understands Atticus and his saying. Scout realizes life.

To Kill a Mockingbird is a very inspirational book. Not only is it a

book for pleasure, it shows us today how far we have come, and yet the

long journey ahead. Boo Radley and Atticus were very important

characters, for both the developments of kids in the book and reader.

The title is something that can be interpreted in many ways. Each

one will be different, based on the reader's philosophy and beliefs.

through. Some are interested in listening to birds squawking "hello" as they

walk past the birdcages in the pet store. The iguana slithering up the

salesman's arm fascinates others. Although, the majority of the potential pet

owners rule out the exotic feathered and scaled friends and settle on the more

common pets, like a dog or cat. It can be a very tough decision between whether

to get a dog or cat. Before choosing between a dog and cat, the soon-to-be

owner should first determine exactly what they are looking for in a pet. In

order to choose the pet that best suits them, it is crucial that the owner

understand the differences between cats and dogs. It is indisputable that both

cats and dogs make great pets and give years of companionship; however, do they

both have sole distinctions that allow each to be prominent individually? Let's

uncover this matter.

Cats and dogs are alike in that they are both domesticated mammals. Another

similarity is that both animals are carnivorous. They eat canned food, dry

food, table scraps, small rodents, and birds. Cats and dogs make great pets

because they can live to be over twenty years old. Additionally, they make such

excellent pets because they have an uncanny ability to know when their owners

are upset and cheer them up. One more correspondence between the two is that

there are many different species of both cats and dogs.

The personalities and habits of cats and dogs are what set them apart from each

other. Someone in search of a quiet, low maintenance pet is most likely to be

more compatible with a cat. Cats do their business in a litter box. This is

very convenient; the owner doesn't have to worry about the pet messing in the

house while they aren't home. Now if only they could learn how to spray the air

freshener. A problem with cats is their claws. It isn't pleasant extracting

nails, which feel like daggers, out of your arm. Some cats will claw at

furniture. Many people believe this is done to sharpen their claws; however,

the action is performed to mark their territory. Other than getting cats

declawed, they do not require much attention over and above regular feeding and

regular cleaning of the litter box. Cats are quite independent, and they hardly

ever listen to authority. They do whatever they want, and they do it when and

the way they desire. Cats rarely show affection. Once in a while when a cat

does show friendliness, it will crawl onto your lap and rub its entire body on

you. The purring sound a cat makes when it is content is one of the few

indications of love. Although they have an aloof nature, cats grow up quickly

and are able to amuse themselves all day while their owners are away. Cats

rarely make a mess of the house. And if this happens, it is because they are

upset or sick. One useful characteristic about cats is that they chase and eat

rodents. Although there are many types of cats, they are generally all the same

size. Many people that have problems with mice adopt cats for the simple reason

that they get rid of pesky rodents.

For unwavering love, devotion, and security, a dog might be a better

alternative. The sizes of dogs, unlike cats, vary dramatically. Full-grown

dogs can range anywhere from three to over a hundred pounds.

Small dogs, like poodles, are usually adopted just for the simple reason to love

their owners. Bigger dogs like rottweilers and dobermans are for those who are

in need of further protection. Thieves would think twice before breaking into

your house if you had a salivating doberman standing on your porch. Dogs will

not question authority, and they will, after some training, do exactly what they

are told to do. Caring for a dog is not as easy as a cat, and they require a

lot more attention. They must be taken out regularly. Unfortunately, dogs

cannot be trained to do their business in a litter box. Children are more

likely to get along better with a dog rather than a cat. Most dogs, much like

kids, love to play. A dog is also a lot like a child in that it easily and can,

without too much effort, make your house look like a disaster area.

It is an obvious detail that cats and dogs make great pets, and they both give

numerous years of company. They are also soothing to the soul, and they teach

responsibility. The decision regarding which to choose however is one of duty.

The pet owner must decide how much effort he or she wants to put forth. If a

quiet and low maintenance pet is more important, a cat is a better choice than a

dog. If, nonetheless, an affectionate, playful, and reliable companion were

desired, a dog would be the best pick.

Why I would like to go on the Mexico Mission Trip

By Jennifer Green

I would like to go on the Mexico Mission Trip for several different reasons. The first reason why I would like to go on it is because I think, well I know, that it will be a very good experience for me, and I will be able to get a lot out of it. What I can get out of it is that I can become a lot closer with God, and I can help other people, especially several little children, to learn about Jesus and how great he is, and I can be part of an amazing thing, a great experience. Another reason why I would like to go is because every year when the other students that did go on the trip, come back to town they are always so happy about going, yet they are still very sad about having to leave Mexico and all the people there. They all love going to Mexico and can never wait until the next year comes so that they can go again. Everyone that did go always loves the children and enjoys being with them. I would love to have something like that, something that I would really look forward to going back to in my life. Also, another reason why I want to go this year is because last year when I did not go because I had track, I made a promise to Ana that I would go this year. Now, not only do I not have track this year but I also do not want to break my promise that I made to Ana.

Even though the being dirty throughout the week is pretty gross, and being hot during the day, and freezing at night (as I have heard about several times) does not make me to happy since I hate the cold and the heat, I still think that I would be getting a wonderful experience out of it if I am to go. At first I did not want to go to Mexico, but the more I was told about how much everyone loved it, I thought more and more about going. Finally after I did a lot of thinking, I finally decided that I would really love to go to Mexico, and since I would love to go I decided that I would go.

Truthfully, I do not have really any other reasons of why I would like to go on the Mexico Missions trip. The only reasons for me wanting to go can really be summarized in about maybe fifteen words. I would just really enjoy going and helping, and teaching the people there in Mexico, and I do not have really anything holding me back and keeping me from going, and lastly I made that promise to Ana that I would go this year and since it is a promise I must and I would really like to keep it.

How does a society take care of its most vulnerable members in poverty? There are many issues as a world wide community must look at, but the most important ones being food, employment and medicine. We must look at who, where and how people are trying to rid of these problems, for those who are in poverty and try to get them out of their horrible life. The world needs groups outside of governments to address these important and overlooked issues.

There are many organizations in the world that help with food-aid to those in poverty. The biggest being the WFP or the World Food Programme. WFP is a an agency that is responsible for food aid operations in the world. WFP comes to the aid of anybody who needs the goods the most. Whether it be a droughts, floods, poor families, etc. They also help families hold onto their assets so they dont have to sell their valuable items to eat. Another popular organization helping with food aid in those in poverty is the USAID or United States Agency for International Development. USAID helps those who are in need of proper nutrition and offer quality food to victims of poverty. In 17 USAID distributed over two and a half million tons of food, worth of about $1.1 billion dollars. It was given to sixty-three developing countries and fed about forty-six million people. USAID is also the world leader in the fight against HIV/AIDS in developing countries. They have dedicated over 1.7 billion dollars against HIV/AIDS. Another popular and big organization that helps with food-aid to those in poverty is world vision. World vision is a NGO(non-governmental organization) that focuses on the public to help those in poverty. They due this through T.V shows much like an informercial to persuade people to sponsor a child. Through World Vision sponsorship, more than 00,000 Canadians are assisting 50,000 children, families and communities to break the out of poverty. It gives the public an eye of the real events that are destroying this world. The money that is contributed by Canadians helps children to go to school, eat, get medical care, and give them shelter. For just $1 dollars people can give a child a real life they deserve. There are so many organizations or programs all over the world that help with food aid, its surprising to think people are still in hunger.

Micro-loans is a very popular and useful program that has been set up to help those in poverty. They help open up employment opportunities and help develop the business sector in developing countries. Microcredit is give to entrepreneurs who are too poor to get a loan from the bank. So it is much like loans that we can get from the bank to open up a business. The first microcredit was the Grameen Bank founded by Muhammad Yunus. Most borrowers of the program are woman because they are more poorer than men and would spend their earnings to help their children. Woman also have a better repayment record than men, 7 percent better repayment record than men. One third of Grameen Banks two million borrowers have come out of poverty. Microcredit is now in available in forty-three countries. It is a very useful program to help with poverty. The Kenya Rural Enterprise Programme opened up in 10 and distributed about $450,000 to 1,00 people, it received about 8. percent repayment rate. The poor are good at paying back or credit worthy. Opportunity International Canada gave out ,075 loans and percent of the loans were repaid on time. The next best thing for people in poverty to start a business would have to be through loan sharks, who charge unbelievable interest rates. Loan sharks would charge maybe 0-40 percent interest on loans a week, they might even ask to put their children up for collateral. Opportunity International charge an average of about -7 percent a month on loans. Micro-loans help those in poverty the money goes directly to poor people, it creates jobs in villages and helps those in poverty have independence and a better life. It is a good way to help deal with poverty because it makes them work for their food, shelter, etc. Instead of simply receiving it from food aid organizations.

Proper Medical care is very vital in order to coupe with poverty. Medical care is very important to these people because they are the ones who need it the most. People in poverty need the most medical attention because they cannot afford it and they are dying at a large scale. Bernard Kouchner is one who has realized this and founded Medecins sans Frontieres (MSF) or Doctors Without Borders. Kouchner and his group of doctors believed that everyone has the right to medical care .Doctors without borders is a medical relief organization that has given medical care to anybody and everybody no matter the nationality or country. To whom does the suffering of people belong?Kouchner asks.To them? To their families? Or to everybody? My answer is the last one.(Kouchner) The doctors of the organization seek to enter countries where people need help. In thirty years the organization has worked in many like Nicaragua, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Kosovo and many more. They have run operations in more than eighty countries with ,000 volunteers from forty-five countries. They have also won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1 for their humanitarian work on many continents. Currently the MSF is working to help those in Afghanistan, they have vaccinated over 7,000 children over the past week. They also have distributed vitamin A supplements and treating kids with malnutrition. Groups like Doctors Without Borders help those in poverty, war-torn areas, victims of natural disasters, etc. Get the proper medical care that they desperately need in order to survive. They send about ,000 volunteers into ninety countries worldwide. Without them who knows how many lives would be of been lost today. These doctors play a vital role in ending poverty to those countries who cannot afford proper medical care.

In order for us to fix these problems the world needs more non-governmental organizations (NGOs). These people also need the public to help and lend a hand out for those in need. They need the world wide community to help. This way we can overcome and solve the food, employment and medical problems that plague this world.

Abstract

This documents compares Ethernet against Token Ring networks. Both topologies have a lot to offer the market place, however, it is up to the organization to make an informed decision as to what is best for the company. Ethernet uses a bus topology in which all computers are connect to one straight line of cable, otherwise know as the backbone. Data is permitted to access the network at anytime, however, it can only enter when no other data is on the network. Data will travel down the backbone till it reaches its final destination or the end of the wire and eliminated. Token Ring works in a similar fashion except for the fact that the computers are connected in a loop. Data can only enter the network when given permission. At that time, data is transmitted around the ring until if reaches it final destination or eliminated by the monitoring node.

Ethernet vs. Token Ring

Write my Essay on ethernet vs. token ring for me

LANs are two or more computer that spans a small area such as a building or an office. The two types of Local Area Networks (LAN) we are going to discuss are Ethernet and Token Ring. Both of these networks are the most popular on the market today. Ethernet is the topology most often selected for network design but is it always the best design? Let's take a look at both topologies and see what they have to offer us.

Ethernet

The Xerox Corporation developed the Ethernet in 176. Ethernet uses the bus topology with data transfer rates of 10 Mbps. All nodes are connected to a single long cable. Any connected node can send and receive a signal along the cable. However before the node can send any data, it must listen to the network to see if it is in use. The source node will not release the data to the destination node until the network is clear. If two or more nodes send data at one time, a collision will transpire. Whenever this happens, the original data is dropped and resent by the source node.

Ethernet uses the carrier sense multiple access/collision detection (CSMA/CD) at the physical and link layer to detect collisions on the network. The frame structure for carrying data begins with alternating binary numbers that signals the destination node the frame is on its way. Following the preamble is the destination and source address for the data. The next section contains a two-byte field that is used to identify the data type. Then you have section that contains the actual data follow by the frame check sequence (FCS) field. The FCS contains cyclic redundancy check (CRC) value. The CRC is designed by the sending device and recalculated by the receiving node to check for damages that might have transpired during transit.

Token Ring

IBM created the Token Passing Ring Network and is the second most commonly implemented LAN, second only to Ethernet. Token Ring networks use token passing to send data across the network. The computers are grouped together and connected in a loop. The computer requesting to send data will need to obtain permission before transmitting any data. When the node obtains control of the network, like Ethernet, the data will be transmitted in a frame. The frame circles the network passing from one computer to the next until it reaches source of the transmission.

The frame format for the tokens noted above was obtained from www.rad.com. It provides us with a breakdown of the token. The header, or start delimiter, alerts nodes of the tokens arrival. Next, the access control byte contains the priority and reservation field for access to the network. This is also where node would check to see if the data has been abandon on the ring for what could be an endless amount of time. The next section of the token is the control information. This area contains both the source and destination address. Finally, the last section of the token contains the End Delimiter, which signals the end of the frame.

Token Ring networks use a dedicated node and fault management mechanism for monitoring frames that are circling around the network without returning to its place of origin. This monitoring device will remove such frames and enhance performance of the network.

Conclusion

After all my research, reading and pondering, I have come to the conclusion that I have merely scratched the surface of the both Ethernet and Token Ring networks. Both topologies have a lot to offer an organization. The Ethernet bus is a simpler topology with less room to err. However, the Token Ring provides an organization with a network that has the ability to protect itself against failure. My personal preference is to employ a network that has less room to err, Ethernet, so that it is not concerned with protecting itself, Token Ring.

The Truth Within Lord of the Flies, is the story of a group of boys of different backgrounds who are stranded on an unknown island when their plane crashes. As the boys try to formulate a plan to get rescued, they begin to separate, and a band of savage tribal hunters are formed. Eventually the boys almost entirely shake off the civilization of the world they once knew. When all the confusion of behaviour leads them to a manhunt the reader realizes the sudden decay of law and order and loss of civilization when adults aren`t among them. Which also brings out the underlying savage side existent in all humans. In Lord of the Flies, there were numerous themes that were portrayed throughout the novel. The Need for Civilisation, is the most obvious theme. Our beliefs were always lead to believe that man is innocent and that our society is evil. But what the statement is hiding from our peers is that without laws, rules, and order, our world would revert to a more primitive part of his nature. Which of course is a more darker and cruel place to live our lives. ¨There aren`t any grown-ups. We shall have to look after ourselves.¨1 The Innocence and the Loss of It is the existence of civilization that allows man to remain in captivity with his innocence or ignorance about his true nature. Although man needs civilization, it is also important that he be aware of his primal instincts. As William Golding the author of Lord of the Flies stated, This loss of innocence by coming to terms with reality is necessary if humanity is to survive Which is, to reach true maturity you must first realizes the reality of our world today, as it is not the same as it was many years ago. ¨I`m not going to be part of Ralph`s lot----¨ He looked along the right-hand logs, numbering the hunters that had been a choir. ¨I`m going off by myself. He can catch his own pigs. Anyone who wants to hunt when I do can come too.¨ He blundered out of the triangle towards the drop to the white sand. The Loss of Identity is the most common one among us as we are faced with different surroundings and environnement We are taught are taught to make choices our whole lives and when we come the situation to make them on our own we freeze not knowing what to do, therefore they follow the lead of the next and in the case of Lord of the Flies they drive each other wild until the only way out is to kill. ¨They smell me. They see me, I think. Something pink, under the trees.¨ He made one cheek and one eye-socket white, then rubbed red all over the other half of his face and slashed a black bar of charcoal across from right ear to left jaw. He looked in the mere for his reflection, but his breathing troubled in the mirror. Power is used centrally to focus in on their leadership and loyalty. There is a kind of power used by every character which allows the reader to establish a well- balanced scale to which upon they meet with their expectation and judge against the civilization today. You see that democratic power is shown when the boys are faced with their own choices and decisions, and than they are faced with the power to be a leader or a follower and deal with the discrimination forced upon them by those who fear rejection. They have an inner strength that pushes them to blend with the others to make the matters clear of danger. ¨This`ll be a real hunt! Who`ll come?¨ Ralph moved impatiently. ¨These spears are made of wood. Don`t be silly.¨ Jack sneered at him. ¨Frightened?¨ Course I`m frightened. Who wouldn`t be?¨5 ¨ I`m chief. We`ve got to make certain. Can`t you see the mountain? There`s no signal showing. There may be a ship out there. Are you all off your rockers?¨ 6 Fear of the Unknown evolves around the boys making attempts to catch the beast. As the story unravels the reader realizes that put in a position to capture a beast you are struck with a certain flash of light that gives you these negative effects on the nature of evil. The power of fear in Lord of the Flies is hidden deep within in some characters but in others it is portrayed as their characteristic. Fear is a deep meaning and we can always relate to it no matter our situation. ¨Last night I had a dream, a horrid dream, fighting with things. I was outside the shelter by myself, fighting with things, those twisty things in the trees.¨ He paused, and the other littleluns laughed in horrified sympathy. ¨Then I was frightened and I woke up. And I was outside the shelter by myself in the dark and the twisty things had gone away.¨ 7 Instinct to be a Follower, if you believe that another person is superior to you and or the others you have this instant reaction to stay quiet and follow the one person who isn`t afraid to speak and has this strength deep within. As most LEADERS would react they think the world owes them something, but as a matter of fact they owe the world something else, respect, loyalty and strength. to guide the others into making a good choice and to see the better side of life. In Lord of the Flies, Ralph the leader indeed tried to portray such this thing. But Jack, the would-be leader lours them away by side tracking them with a feast of meat. The children who are starving for some real meat follow but to their dismay loose almost all civilization because of the savageness they have within. This shows that you might follow someone who has the ability to believe to be superior and forget the civilized world behind for they do not want to be an outcast and fear rejection in an unknown place. ¨Who is going to join my tribe?¨ Ralph made a sudden movement that became a stumble. Some of the boys turned towards him. ¨I gave you food,¨said Jack, ¨and my hunters will protect you from the beast. Who will join my tribe?¨¨8 ¨Who`ll join my tribe?¨ ¨I will¨ ¨Me¨ ¨I will¨ Piggy touched Ralphs wrist. ¨Come away. There`s going to be trouble. And we`ve had our meat.¨ 10 Lord of the Flies concludes by them being rescued by a Naval Officer, the novel was an experience in it`s own, you`d be surprised of what you learn by reading. The novel was a story that was meant to be read in between the lines, it demonstrates the effect civilization has on us and our evil within. I hope you enjoyed it as well as I have.

Order your out out paper at affordable prices with cheap essay writing service! "Out, Out-- Out, Out-- by Robert Frost is a poem about a young boy who dies as a result of cutting his hand using a saw. In order to give the reader a clear picture of this bizarre scenario, Frost utilizes imagery, personification, blank verse, and variation in sentence length to display various feelings and perceptions throughout the poem. Frost also makes a reference to Macbeths speech in the play by Shakespear called Macbeth which is somewhat parallel to the occurrences in Out, Out-. Frost begins the poem by describing a young boy cutting some wood using a buzz-saw. The setting is Vermont and the time is late afternoon. The sun is setting and the boys sister calls he and the other workers to come for Supper. As the boy hears its dinnertime, he gets excited and cuts his hand on accident. Immediately realizing that the doctor might amputate his hand, he asks his sister to make sure that it does not happen. By the time the doctor arrives, it is too late and the boys hand is already lost. When the doctor gives him anaesthetic, he falls asleep and never wakes up again. The last sentence of the poem, since they (the boys family and the doctor) were not the one dead, turned to their affairs shows how although the boys death is tragic, people move on with their life in a way conveying the idea that people only care for themselves. Frost uses different stylistic devices throughout this poem. He is very descriptive using things such as imagery and personification to express his intentions in the poem. Frost uses imagery when he describes the setting of the place. He tells his readers the boy is standing outside by describing the visible mountain ranges and sets the time of day by saying that the sun is setting. Frost gives his readers an image of the boy feeling pain by using contradicting words such as rueful and laugh and by using powerful words such as outcry. He also describes the blood coming from the boys hand as life that is spilling. To show how the boy is dying, Frost gives his readers an image of the boy breathing shallowly by saying that he is puffing his lips out with his breath. When talking about the saw, Frost uses personification and repetition. Personification is seen when he says that at times it can run light and at others it has to bear a load, talking as if the saw was a person which had to carry something. Repetition is used to help build an image of the saws movements where the words snarled and rattled are repeated several times throughout the poem to display an image of the saw moving back and forth. Frosts variation in the lengths of his sentences almost reflect the boys life for when the boy is still alive and healthy, the lengths of Frosts sentences are much longer then they are when the boy is dying. The poems title, Out, Out- is taken from the Shakespeare play Macbeth where the main character, Macbeth, speaks after he is told that his wife is dead. Using a simile to compare Lady Macbeths death to a candle which is blown out he says Out, out, brief candle! Both Lady Macbeths death and the death of the young boy from Frosts poem are tragedies. They are both about people whos lives come to an end before it is their time to die, before theyve lived a long life and aged to die a natural death. Comparing them to a candle is suitable because just like a candles light can go in a matter of seconds caused by a simple blow, their lives ended in a matter of seconds. A candle that leaves darkness once it is not shining any longer, can be compared to the darkness left in the hearts of the families of Lady Macbeth and of the boy after their death. Saying brief candle clearly compares to the boy, who dies before he even gets the chance to reach manhood. Another comparison that can be made between Lady Macbeth and the boy, is the way that after their deaths, their surroundings move on and go back to their regular routine. In Macbeth, Macbeth continues his fight for the kingdom, and in Out, Out- the doctor and the boys family get back to their affairs. This helps prove Macbeths words when he says Lifes but a walking shadow, a poor player; That struts and frets his hour upon the stage; And then is heard no more it is a tale; Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury; Signifying nothing., because he is saying that life is brief and meaningless. The boys quick death shows how life can be short and the way in which everyone got back to their own businesses shows how life is meaningless, how when one is gone it does not make that much of a difference. Its Frosts style of writing that makes his readers feel as if they are part of the poem. Its almost as if the events in the poem are really taking place and the readers are merely people who are standing by and watching it all. It is his writing which allows him to make an allusion between the story of a tragic boy and the story of a tragic hero. It is his writing which makes his poems so unique. Word Count 1

Ms. Toshiko Saeki was 6 years old at the time of the bombing. She was at her parents home in Yasufuruichi with her children. As she was returning to Hiroshima on the afternoon of August 6th, she searched for her other relatives for many days, but couldn't find them.

Ms. Saeki lost thirteen members of her family in the atomic bomb attack on Hiroshima.

Saeki remembered an airplane appearing from behind the mountains on her left. She thought it was strange to see an airplane flying that time all by itself. She looked at it and it was a B-. She thought it seemed strange because there were anti aircraft guns firing at it. She watched it for a while, but as soon as it disappeared, another airplane appeared from the same direction. Saeki thought it seemed out of the ordinary.

Subsequently, there came a flash of light. Saeki couldn't describe what it was. Then, she felt heat attacking her all of a sudden. She laid flat on the ground, trying to escape from the heat.

Next, there came a big sound, doors and windows were blown off into the air. She turned around to see what had happened to the house, and at some parts, the ceiling was caved in, burying her sisters child and her child as well.

When she saw what the blast had done to her house, which was pretty far away from Hiroshima, she thought that Hiroshima must have been ruined. She begged her sister to let her go back to Hiroshima to rescue their family. By that time though, things were falling from the sky.

She went out to the main road, and a few people were coming from the direction of Hiroshima. They were in a horrible condition and wounded badly. At that point, she began to run towards Hiroshima.

Saeki said the whole town of Hiroshima was just in a mess. People were trying to find shelter. When she reached the local school, people were crowding around in the hallways. Everywhere she turned people were crying. She couldnt identify people by their faces. She tried to find her family by looking at their clothing, if they had any.

Saeki couldnt find any of her family, so she went out to the playground. She saw four piles of bodies and didnt know what to do. She couldn't find words to describe what she saw.

By the end of August 145, Toshiko's hair started to fall out, she vomited blood, and her teeth were coming out. There was nothing good about nuclear war. She said it just leaves you with fear about the aftereffects of a radioactivity.

the Autobiography of Malcolm X. Malcolm goes through many changes good

and

bad, and he makes decisions that will effect his whole prospective on

life.

Malcolm changes his ghetto lifestyle into one of the worlds most

influential people. Malcolm regretted his old hustling life, and using

girls

and drugs. When he gets caught and is put in jail he changes and goes

into

the religion of Muslim at this point Malcolm is still very racist

against all

white people and any religion other than his own. Through his religion

of

Muslim he travels to Mecca he sees that segregation does not work, and

being

together does. He starts to see that integration might work in the

States and

changes his whole view on his life and what he preaches to others. He

starts

to see that integration is the key of life. Malcolm X also known

as Red,

for his red hair. Was very into drugs during his younger life. Using

many

different types of drugs, and also using girls for sexually and

anything else

he could find a use for them He was always stealing, and doped u off

many

drugs. Red would also sell various drugs, people would call and he

would drop

off whatever they wanted. When Red met Sammy they became instant

friends.

Sammy influenced Red a lot into becoming a hustler. This is where many

problems started with Malcolm or Red at this time of his life. Red ran

into

trouble with a big time hustler West Indian Archie, he go into money

problems

which ended up Red owing West Indian Archie two hundred dollars. At

this

point of the book Red is so stressed out and does so many drugs this is

what

he has to say about it, †The amount of dope i put into myself within

the

next several hours sounds inconceivable” ( 1). There must be a slum

in

When Malcolm got caught is was put in jail. He had lots of time on

hands. He started to get very into the religion of Muslim he would

write

letters to Elijah Mohammed. He became a preacher at a temple in Harlem

and he

would preach how horrible â€white” people are and that the Christian

religion

is like devil worshipping. He makes several remarks relating whites

and

devils. On one of many situations Malcolm had handled, he talking to a

white

man. He says some of the most horrible thing you could call someone.

††The

devil white man” had he been relatively abstract, someone who we

Muslims

rarely actually came into contact with ,b ut now here was the devil in

the

flesh on the phone- with all of his calculating , cold eyed, self

righteous

tricks and nerve and gall. The voices questioning me became to me as

breathing living devils.” This is appalling what Malcolm has said to

someone

that is white. Malcolm is racist against whites and doesn’t see that

he has

stooped to the lower person’s level. Malcolm during this time is sick

and an

evil person to make comments about anyone based of the color of their

skin. I

don’t understand how he thought this was the way to solve problem,

fight

violence with violence. The only result in that is a bigger problem.

Martin

Luther King Jr. solved his issue much better. Even though you might not

feel

what you are doing is really working because you are being peaceful

about it,

it really does. Then, people feel more comfort to open up about how

they feel

on the topic. The key to solve any problem is through peace. Martin

Luther

King Jr. was an amazing leader and he did many great things for this

country.

Making a bigger step in society for the better of everyone.

Malcolm goes to Mecca because in the Muslim religion you must fill

certain things such as praying everyday and thing like that. To make

your

true sacrifice, your compete commitment into becoming Muslim you must

take

the trip to Mecca. This was very important to Malcolm. What he saw

amazed

him, he couldn’t believe that integration was working, and it was

peaceful.

When Malcolm saw this it completely changed his thoughts that

segregation was

the only way to go. He saw that integration was working in Mecca. He

felt

very strongly for Mecca, which help change his thoughts on segregation

and

ingration. When Malcolm was asked what he thought about Mecca and

everything

he saw he said,” The brotherhood ! The people all all races, colors,

from

all over the world coming together as one! †( 45). This change was

dramatic and changed my whole opinion on Malcolm X. This is a major

changing

point in Malcolm life. This is where he becomes more of a peaceful

leader,

and see the world is very different than he thought it was. It’s

amazing how

Malcolm saw everyone being together in Mecca and changed his whole

prospective on how he feels about the world and the racism of the time.

Malcolm has proved he has changed his whole life. He when from

being a

thug on the streets selling drugs, using all different substances, and

women

abuses all of them. Then, when he gets caught and is put in jail, he

spent

his time learning about Muslim. Which starts to set him on a better

path

through life. When he starts to preach about how terrible white people

are

and the only way to have peace is through segregation. When he for

fills the

final phase in becoming a true Muslim, he takes a trip to Mecca. A

forbidden

place to all Muslim which is extremely holy to them. Malcolm sees there

is

integration, and it is working. Everyone no matter race, color, ethic

background everyone is together peacefully. Malcolm did something many

people

can not do, and he is amazing to do so.

Code of "The Lost Generation"

If you order your custom term paper from our custom writing service you will receive a perfectly written assignment on Code of "The Lost Generation". What we need from you is to provide us with your detailed paper instructions for our experienced writers to follow all of your specific writing requirements. Our staff of freelance writers includes over 120 experts proficient in Code of "The Lost Generation", therefore you can rest assured that your assignment will be handled by only top rated specialists. Order your Code of "The Lost Generation" paper at affordable prices! Ernest Hemingway believed the generation that came of age after World War I was a lost generation. "The Lost Generation" was simply defined as a bunch of disillusioned young men and women that survived World War I, who lost their morals, and direction of their lives. Like the characters in the novel they spent their time drinking, and traveling as a way to escape reality. Most of these young men and women had dreams, but after the war, they came back physically, and emotionally wounded. They spent most of their time in cafes; due to this they became bitter, and lost hope in life. In the novel The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway, "The Lost Generation" is a theme that appears throughout. The code that is seemingly apparent for Jake Barnes and Frances Clyne in Hemingway's The Sun Also Rises is irresponsibility.

Jake Barnes being the narrator and protagonist of the novel is one of the characters that represents the worst of "The Lost Generation." Due to the war Jake came back impotent, in other words he also lost his manhood. After going out with Georgette one night Jake states that, "She cuddled against me and I put my arm around her. She looks up to be kissed. She touched me with one hand and I put her hand away" (Hemingway 15). Instead of confronting his problem with Georgette, Jake is going around the truth, and just telling her that he is sick. This shows how irresponsible he is, and how he does not accept his condition. In "The Waste Land" by T.S. Eliot, there is a line that states, "Lilacs out of the dead land, mixing memory and desire, stirring dull roots with spring rain" (The Waste Land 1781). The "lilacs out of the dead land" represent Jake because he leads an emotionless life. This quote also links to the story because he has a desire to be intimate with women, but he has that constant reminder of the war. However, in order to forget his concerns Jake drinks, and he says, "I was a little drunk. Not drunk in any positive sense but just enough to be careless" (Hemingway 1). To get rid of all his feelings Jake drinks, he thinks that drinking is going to make him forget his issues. By drinking Jake runs from his problems, and hides from the truth because he cannot handle it. On the other hand, when Frances approaches Jake to talk about Robert, Jake says, "I do not know how people can say such terrible things to Robert Cohn. There are people to whom you could not say… Here it was, all going on right before me, and I did not even feel an impulse to try and stop it" (Hemingway 4). Jake is selfish and irresponsible because he is unwilling to help his own friend. Jake thinks that he has enough with his problems, so he blocks out other people's problems, and keeps going on with his life.

Frances is portrayed as a careless character that suggests irresponsibility. She wants to marry Cohn for reasons other than love. This is apparent when she says, "Oh, he told every one that we were going to be married, and I told my mother and every one, and now he doesn't want to do it" (Hemingway 46). Frances feels that she needs to get married because she is getting old, and wasted the best years of her life next to someone that never loved her. She also wants to get married soon because the older she gets, the harder it will be for her to find another man that is willing to marry her. Later in the novel, Frances makes a foolish remark, she says, "I never liked children much, but I don't want to think I'll never have them. I always thought I'd have them and then like them" (Hemingway 47). Frances displays a character that is irresponsible and immature, and that is not capable of raising a child. For Frances raising a child is like raising a doll, that can be left behind and forgotten about after a while. In a quote from Maxwell, he states that, "The lightest conversation in The Sun Also Rises seems quite inevitably to turn the screw upon the wounded spirits of this group" (Maxwell 5). Like all the characters in the novel, Frances suffers from excessive drinking, and it is not capable of controlling herself. This is a theme that appears throughout the novel, that portrays how irresponsible she is, and how she believes that her problems will be forgotten in the Parisian cafes.

Irresponsibility marks the life of all the characters. In a reading by Spilka he states that, "if one generation is lost and another comes, the earth abides forever" (Spilka ). The characters in The Sun Also Rises led a lifestyle that was set for them already. Everyone became so bitter that they gave up on life, and pretty much did anything they wanted. They believed that by drinking everything was going to be fine. But then realized that after the hangover everything was still the same. They were all nomads searching for answers in the Parisian cafes.

Order your Similiarities in early religions paper at affordable prices! When many of us think of Judeo-Christian religion (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam) or its practices, adjectives such as love, compassion, and/or inclusion come to mind. However, ironic as it is, religious groups and their divisions are oftentimes at the crux of many violent and conflicting exchanges throughout their notable and sacred history.

Judaism, the oldest of these religions dating back to 000 B.C.E., has been wrought with turmoil. After falling under control of the Egyptians, God remembered his Covenant with the Hebrew people and led their exodus from Egypt through Moses. After establishing the kingdom of Israel, under the great king David, the Jewish people began to stray from their covenant with God. This led to the end of the Kingdom of Israel, beginning with the Babylonian exile in 587 B.C.E., where all the important figures were captured.

Ezra was a Hebrew priest and scribe living in Babylonian exile. The task presented to him was to make the Jewish people renew their covenant relationship with God. This became known as the second founding of Judaism. The next few centuries were stormy for the Jews culminating with them falling under Roman control in 6 B.C.E. This led to a division among the Jewish people into three groups, the Sadducees, the Essenes, and the Pharisees. The Pharisees were the forerunners of Rabbinic Judaism. The most important event during this time was the Great Diaspora, the scattering of the Jews. This shattered the heart of Judaism, the temple and the Jewish community in Jerusalem.

Christianity, which has Jewish roots, was formed when Jewish history split. The most important figure in their history is Jesus born 4 B.C.E. They believed that Hebrew scripture was a prelude to Jesus. Jesus led a short, tragic life ending in 0 B.C.E., with his crucifixion at the hands of the Romans. The people who still followed Christ considered themselves Jews, but other Jews considered them an erring sect worshipping a false prophet and persecuted them. This led to the spread of Christianity as they were dispersed to other lands where they continued to spread the word.

Help with essay on Similiarities in early religions

Islam believes that Jesus was just a prophet and that Mohammed was the final and complete prophet. They believe the same history as the Christians but they follow Ishmael instead of Isaac. God picked Arabia as holy land because it had a new people, it was centrally located between Byzantine and Persian empires (allowing easy spread of word), and because the spoke Arabic (only true way to read word). Mecca was established as the holy city. The Moslem people had many in house fights after the death of Mohammed in 6 B.C.E.

The similarities and closeness in time of these three traditions help to explain why they have problems co-existing. By each religion believing that there is only one true way, they cannot accept other variation or themes. Spreading the word and establishing holy lands oft times lead to violence. If the God of your religion told you to establish this place as the holy land but there where already a people present, if they would not convert to your word then physical force would be necessary to overcome them. And some internal uprisings have to be dealt with violently to subdue.

The establishing of Christianity as the religion of the Roman Empire led to many conflicts with the Jewish tradition. By becoming a Christian state the Roman Empire had to put down the Jewish tradition.

The Medieval era and the fall of the Roman Empire led to many invasions of the land. The early challenges were met, but the later invasion, particularly the Muslims, took their toll. The Muslims expanded into the world of Christendom. They did not force the Christians to convert to Muslim but the Christians still revolted. This led to the four Christian crusades against the Muslims. The first of these crusades was a success, but each subsequent crusade was a failure. The Muslims held their own and kept control of the land they had previously conquered from the Christians.

Although these early conflicts are considered religious issues, upon further examination they appear to be more political than religious. In the modern world the spreading of new religion, or even already established ones, does not involve any force. Using force makes these battles more political than anything. And once these ancient lands where conquered, the people were forced to follow the laws of the people and not just the laws of their God. An example being, you couldn't live in a land that followed Christian religion and consider yourself to be Muslim. The different traditions eventually saw the errors of their ways and this ceased to be the case, but not before some violent and sometime tragic events had unfolded.

philosophy of architecture. He began the theory of integrating architecture with nature in

an important person of the 0th century because of his architectural contribution to the

American Culture.

One of the major influences in Mr. Wright's life was the collapsing of the state of

Wisconsin Capitol Building. Frank was severely shocked by this event and he kept

wondering why it had occurred. Weeks later it was revealed that the cause of the building

collapse was a lack of support from the pillars, which held up three stories. This

happened because the architect and the builder didn't test the pillars before they were

introduced. After Mr. Wright experienced this, he said that if he became an architect he

would test all the support membranes used in his constructions. Frank Lloyd Wright

learned from this event. That is why the greatest factor in his philosophy of Organic

Architecture was safety.

Through the turn of the century, Mr. Wright's personal style was evolving. His

work in these years developed his "prairie style". Prairie houses were characterized by

low, horizontal lines that were meant to blend with the flat landscape around them. These

structures were built around a central chimney; they consisted of broad open spaces of

strictly defined rooms and the distinction between interior space and the surrounding. His

masterpiece of the prairie style is the Robin House, built in Chicago in 10. Wright

didn't want only to design a house, but to create a complete environment.

Although the word "organic" in common usage refers to something that has the

characteristics of animals and plants, Wright's organic architecture takes on a new

meaning. He began the theory of integrating architecture with nature in his uncle's farm.

Organic architecture involves a respect for the properties of the materials and also for the

relationship between the design and the function of the building. It is not a style of

imitation, it is a reinterpretation of nature's principles as they had been filtered through

the intelligent minds of men and women. Organic architecture is also an attempt to

integrate the spaces into a coherent world a marriage between the site and the structure

and union between the context and the structure. Louis Sullivan, one of Frank's bosses,

had a slogan that said "Form follows function". Wright changed this phrase to "Form

and function are one", using nature as the best example of integration.

Mr. Wright's career was very notable in several areas. He was a practicing

architect, an architectural theoretician/academic, and he was a draftsman, an artist. He

designed several hundred buildings and about 500 of these designs were built. He wrote

several books on architecture and founded a successful school in which he trained many

architects. His drawings of buildings and other plans were beautiful and very notable. He

was a very productive artist because his designs went beyond to the finest details of

interior space. His views on architectural space, relationship to site, his life and

philosophy have inspired many architects and artistes around the world.

Macbeth's courage

If you order your cheap custom essays from our custom writing service you will receive a perfectly written assignment on Macbeth's courage. What we need from you is to provide us with your detailed paper instructions for our experienced writers to follow all of your specific writing requirements. Specify your order details, state the exact number of pages required and our custom writing professionals will deliver the best quality Macbeth's courage paper right on time.

Our staff of freelance writers includes over 120 experts proficient in Macbeth's courage, therefore you can rest assured that your assignment will be handled by only top rated specialists. Order your Macbeth's courage paper at affordable prices with cheap essay writing service! One person said of Macbeth "Macbeth's courage is his redeeming feature. Not all the blood he spills can distinguish his native humanity or blot out his splendour." Another said "Macbeth looses his humanity and descends into bestial." Do you agree with either person? Explain why or why not.

Macbeth may in fact be courageous. Anyone who has the guts to kill their King and their best friend must be either courageous or slightly mad, neither of which qualify as redeeming features for Macbeth. At certain times during the play, Macbeth's momentary loss of his native humanity results in his making impulsive decisions. Despite this, Macbeth's humanity still remains strong throughout Macbeth, depicted by his guilty conscience. The audience is more likely to sympathize with Macbeth's ‘tragic hero' character than to be swayed by Macbeth's courage. However, one could say that courage is not Macbeth's redeeming feature at all, as courage could be said to be a quality that Macbeth does not possess.

The most apparent changes in Macbeth's courage and humanity are around the times of his four different murders. Before committing any murders, Macbeth is described by Lady Macbeth as being "too full o'th'milk of human kindness to catch the nearest way", meaning that he would not do wrong to become King. However, by the time it comes to murder his next victim, Banquo, Macbeth has begun to put his own safety before his moral values and thus enters the ‘dog eat dog' world. The brutal murder of Lady Macduff and her son is an extremely low point in Macbeth's humanity, as Macbeth orders their execution for no apparent reason at all. By the end of the play, Macbeth's level of humanity has begun to increase, as we see when he tells Macduff that he does not want to spill any more of the Macduff family's blood, yet as a contrast in the same scene, Macbeth fights and slaughters Siward's son.

In several circumstances, Macbeth's courage is limited to physical nature, not emotional or mental. In the opening scenes, we see that Macbeth is physically brave and well deserves the praise bestowed upon him. In the second scene of the play, when Duncan is told about Macbeth's battlefield bravery, he exclaims "O valiant cousin, worthy gentleman". Macbeth may be confident defending himself on the battle field, however we see later in the play that Macbeth is easily influenced by other people, such as the witches brewing the idea of killing the King, and Lady Macbeth talking Macbeth into murdering Duncan by challenging his manliness and courage. How can we say Macbeth is courageous if he cannot stand up to his own wife, nor defend the morals he has previously lived by. Not only does Macbeth murder Duncan, but also the guards in Duncan's chamber. How much courage does it take for Macbeth to murder innocent, defenseless guards?

Write my Essay on Macbeth's courage cheap

Macbeth's courage seems to be at its greatest just before Banquo's murder. Macbeth feels no need to consult his wife about the murder, whereas Lady Macbeth had previously been Macbeth's backbone of strength. However, during the play, Macbeth's apparent courage walks a fine line between true strength and a selfish fear of losing what he has. The latter seems more probable. Macbeth fears for his safety and he fears to lose all that he has. Macbeth sees his situation as "to be thus is nothing;/But to be safely thus", and hence Macbeth is willing to do whatever it takes to protect his safety.

Some may say that Macbeth's courage in the face of death in the last Act of the play is a sign of strength. Inversely, Macbeth's apparent audacity is a sign that he is unable to admit his faults and accept the penalties for his atrocious behaviour, which furthermore shows weakness of character. Macbeth's false courage seems to be a redeeming feature, as the audience pities his yo-yoing confidence and courage.

Macbeth's remorse more so than his lack of courage is a redeeming feature. Guilt is a human quality that plays a big part in showing that Macbeth still possesses humanity. Even before Macbeth has murdered Duncan, Macbeth's guilt ridden hallucination of the bloody dagger epitomizes his feelings that killing Duncan would not be morally right. The ‘dagger of the mind' that Macbeth sees is not ghostly or supernatural so much as a manifestation of the inner struggle Macbeth feels as he contemplates murdering Duncan. Macbeth's appreciation of human morals also contributes to his remorse and disgust after he realizes what he has done to Duncan. Though Macbeth is a fearless soldier in battle whose sword has been "smoked in bloody execution", he, like any other morally correct human, feels guilt after committing murder in cold blood. In the feast scene where Banquo's ghost appears to haunt Macbeth's conscience, we see that the consequences of Banquo's murder have diminished Macbeth's courage significantly.

Macbeth is a character often devoted to evil, yet his soliloquies are so full of eloquent speech and pathos that the audience can not help but sympathize with him. Macbeth is the tragic hero. He may have committed evil deeds, but not necessarily of his own free will. Without influences such as the Witches and Lady Macbeth, it is unlikely that Macbeth would have murdered Duncan, and hence the audience pities him. During the play, Macbeth tries to work fate to his advantage, but to no avail. Macbeth gives a heart-wrenching speech in Scene 1, Act 5, where he recounts his betrayal and loss of friends.

"I have lived long enough my way of life

Is fall'n into the sear, the yellow leaf;

And that which should accompany old age,

As honour, love, obedience, troops of friends,

I must not look to have…"

Macbeth's realization that all he has done is terribly wrong is his biggest redeeming feature, but it cannot make up for his behaviour.

Courage does not serve to compensate for Macbeth's faults and murders. None of Macbeth's actions or emotions could possibly make up for his treason, lies and murders of several innocent people, however, Macbeth's conscience, feelings of guilt and role of the tragic hero play some part in redeeming him in the eyes of the audience, and show that Macbeth has not fully descended into the bestial.
